SB14

Kentucky SB14 establishes paid maternity leave for state employees, aligning with federal regulations.

Kentucky SB14 creates a new section in the Kentucky Revised Statutes to provide up to thirty days of paid maternity leave for full-time state employees in the executive, judicial, and legislative branches. This leave must be used within one year of a child's birth and cannot be carried over or converted into other benefits. The leave complies with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 and federal regulations. Employees must request advance approval for the leave and provide notice as soon as practicable if advance notice is not possible.
