Kentucky SB100 establishes the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission to review proposed retirements of coal, oil, and natural gas-fired power plants. The commission must examine the impact of such retirements on the Commonwealth's energy supply, economic development, and local economies. Utilities must notify the commission 180 days before filing a retirement application with the Public Service Commission. The commission can require additional information from utilities and hold public hearings.
