Kentucky HB901 allows employers to provide Tier II benefits to employees in hazardous positions.

Kentucky HB901 amends the County Employees Retirement System to allow employers to provide Tier II benefits to employees in hazardous positions. Employers can make a one-time irrevocable election to convert employees' Tier III benefits to Tier II benefits. Employees can also make an irrevocable election to participate in Tier II benefits. The bill defines hazardous positions and outlines the process for employers and employees to make these elections. The changes are effective July 1, 2027.
