Kentucky HB8 proposes to amend the state constitution to allow the General Assembly to establish the end date of regular sessions and convene for up to twelve additional days annually. The amendment would be submitted to voters for approval at the next regular election. If approved, the General Assembly could end sessions on a date set by law, or by a three-fifths majority agreement. The Assembly could also meet for additional days if convened by a joint proclamation from the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
