Bill Text

Blood donation autonomy and directed donation rights are protected in Kentucky.

Kentucky HB752, the Medical Autonomy and Directed Donation Act, ensures individuals have the right to select a willing blood donor for their own transfusion, provided the donation complies with FDA standards. Blood establishments and health facilities must not deny, obstruct, or impose undue burdens on directed or autologous donations. These establishments must also provide clear information about patients' rights to such donations.
