Kentucky HB701 establishes requirements for postnuptial agreements to be enforceable.

Kentucky HB701 creates a new section in the Kentucky Revised Statutes to set forth requirements for postnuptial agreements to be enforceable. The bill specifies that such agreements must contain certain statements, be acknowledged before a notary public by both parties, and include signatures of legal counsel if retained. Additionally, there must be a 60-day waiting period between the initial receipt of the document and its execution.
