Kentucky HB699 creates a family medical leave policy for state employees, allowing eligible employees to take up to six weeks of paid leave for the birth and care of a newborn child, placement of a child for adoption or foster care, or a serious health condition. Eligible employees must have completed 30 days of service. Leave can be taken as a continuous six-week block or intermittently in one-week blocks. Both parents can use leave concurrently or consecutively. Leave must be used before other accrued leave and cannot be paid out upon separation from state service.
