This bill allows Kentucky school districts to revise their 2025-2026 calendars to meet a minimum of 1,062 instructional hours, instead of the usual 170 student attendance days. The commissioner of education can grant up to ten additional attendance days for instruction in alternative settings if a district is closed for health or safety reasons. Certified employees will be considered to have worked a day for each makeup day. The bill declares an emergency, taking effect upon passage and approval by the Governor.
