The bill establishes the Classroom Library Grant Program to provide science of reading curriculum-aligned books and materials in elementary school classrooms. The Kentucky Department of Education will select a provider to administer the program, which will prioritize teachers in schools with a high percentage of students eligible for the federal free and reduced-price lunch program. Grants will be up to $500 per award cycle, with the potential to supplement provided funds with gifts or donations. The program will operate under the oversight of the Kentucky Department of Education.
