Kentucky HB563 amends driving under the influence laws, increasing penalties and adding restrictions for repeat offenders.

Kentucky HB563 introduces stricter penalties for driving under the influence (DUI) offenses. For a first DUI offense within a ten-year period, the penalty includes a fine of $200 to $500 and/or imprisonment for 48 hours to 30 days. A second or third offense within the same period results in a fine of $350 to $500, imprisonment for 7 days to 6 months, and potential community labor for 10 days to 6 months.
