Kentucky HB490 establishes evaluation and removal processes for presidents, faculty, and employees at public postsecondary institutions.
Kentucky HB490 amends the Kentucky Revised Statutes to establish a formal evaluation and removal process for presidents, faculty, and employees at public postsecondary institutions. Each board of trustees must establish a process for evaluating performance and productivity at least every four years. Failure to meet these requirements may result in removal. The process must be provided to all faculty members by January 1, 2026, and become effective July 1, 2026. Faculty members must receive 30 days' notice in writing before removal, with an opportunity to respond.
