HB473

Kentucky HB473 aims to improve the foster care system by ensuring stable placements and prohibiting harmful temporary housing.

Kentucky HB473 addresses the foster care system by prohibiting children in foster care from being housed in vehicles, state offices, or hotels for more than 24 hours. It limits placement changes to two per year unless safety concerns or reunification efforts require otherwise. The bill mandates written explanations for placement changes and requires approval from the secretary. It also tasks the State Citizen Foster Care Review Board with establishing training programs, reviewing barriers to permanency, and reporting annually.
