Kentucky HB404 prohibits employers from discriminating against employees who are candidates or members of certain legislative bodies.

Kentucky HB404 amends employment law to prohibit employers with 75 or more employees from demoting, dismissing, or discriminating against employees who are candidates or members of the General Assembly, city councils, or other local government bodies. The bill also allows employees to request leave of absence to perform their duties in these positions. Violations of these provisions are subject to civil penalties and criminal charges.
