HB40

Kentucky HB40 mandates public schools to provide free feminine hygiene products to female students in grades four through twelve.

Kentucky HB40 introduces a new section in the Kentucky Revised Statutes to require all public and public charter schools with grades four through twelve to provide at least one type of age-appropriate feminine hygiene product free of charge to female students. The bill defines "feminine hygiene product" to include items such as tampons, sanitary napkins, menstrual sponges, and menstrual cups. Local boards of education and public charter school boards must establish policies for the distribution of these products and ensure they are not resold, redistributed, or misused.
