HB341

Kentucky HB341 establishes a right to disconnect policy for employees, allowing them to ignore employer communications during nonworking hours.

Kentucky HB341 creates a new section in the labor standards chapter to establish a workplace policy allowing employees the right to disconnect from employer communications during nonworking hours. Employers may contact employees during these hours only for emergencies or scheduling purposes. The bill also outlines civil penalties for violations, including fines for employers who contact employees during nonworking hours more than three times. Employees who complain about wage violations or participate in related proceedings are protected from discrimination or discharge.
