Kentucky HB309 amends food labeling laws to include cultured meat products.

Kentucky HB309 modifies food labeling laws to include cultured meat products. It amends KRS 217.035 to deem a food misbranded if it is represented as meat or a meat product and contains cultured animal tissue produced from in vitro animal cell cultures outside of the organism from which it is derived. The bill ensures that such products are accurately labeled to inform consumers.
