Kentucky HB230 mandates hospitals to publicly disclose standard charges for services in a machine-readable format.

Kentucky HB230 requires hospitals to maintain and make publicly available a chargemaster listing standard charges for all facility items and services. The chargemaster must be in a machine-readable format, accessible free of charge, and updated annually. It must include gross charges, de-identified minimum and maximum negotiated charges, discounted cash prices, and payor-specific negotiated charges. The chargemaster must be searchable and formatted according to a template established by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
