Kentucky HB161 amends the public school facilities law to establish penalties for damaging school running tracks and for bringing pets onto these tracks. Damaging a running track can result in a Class A misdemeanor for the first offense and a Class D felony for subsequent offenses. Bringing pets onto the track or surrounding area results in a civil fine. School districts must allow public access to running tracks during nonschool hours unless school-sponsored activities are occurring.
