Introduced Text

Extends voter franchise in city elections to qualified electors living in areas subject to extraterritorial zoning or subdivision regulations.

This bill amends Kansas law to ensure that qualified electors living in areas subject to extraterritorial zoning or subdivision regulations are included in city elections. It applies to cities that have established such regulations and considers these areas part of the city for election purposes. The bill also repeals the existing section and takes effect upon publication in the statute book.
