Chamber Passed·2/19/25
Introduced Text

SB53 changes how attorney members of county law library boards are appointed and allows boards to authorize the use of certain fees for district.

SB53 modifies the appointment process for attorney members of county law library boards in certain counties. In Johnson and Sedgwick counties, attorney members are appointed by the county bar association. In other counties, attorney members are appointed by the chief judge of the judicial district. The bill also allows the board of trustees to authorize the chief judge to use certain fees for the purpose of facilitating and enhancing functions of the district court of the county. This change applies to all counties, not just Johnson and Sedgwick counties.
