Introduced Text

Kansas SB514 allows students to participate in school activities immediately upon transfer unless they were recruited for athletic participation.

Kansas SB514 amends school activity regulations to allow students to participate in school activities immediately upon transferring to another school, unless they were recruited, induced, or unduly influenced to transfer primarily for athletic participation. Students must meet participation requirements and skill standards to be eligible. If a student was recruited for athletics, they will be ineligible for one year. The bill also clarifies that nonathletic activities are not subject to these restrictions. This act amends and repeals existing sections of Kansas Statutes.
