Establishes a commission to study and recommend cost-of-living adjustments for Kansas public employees' retirement benefits.
The bill creates the Kansas public employees retirement system cost-of-living adjustment commission. This commission will study retirement benefits and recommend an annual cost-of-living adjustment rate for retirants. The commission consists of voting members appointed by various state officials and nonvoting ex officio members. The commission must submit its recommended rate to the legislature by December 1, 2026. If the legislature does not act on the recommendation, the previous rate remains in effect.
