Kansas SB431 allows pharmacies to employ remote workers for the remote practice of pharmacy, subject to certain conditions. Pharmacist interns and pharmacy technicians can perform tasks like contacting prescribers and patients, and transferring prescriptions if supervised. Pharmacists supervising remote workers cannot be located in the pharmacy. Remote workers must complete training, acknowledge policy understanding, and pass a certification exam. Remote workers cannot handle drugs, package prescriptions, or compound, dispense, or label medications.
