SB429

Extending the sunset for the angel investor tax credit to 2031.

Introduced·1/30/26
Introduced Text

Extends the sunset for the angel investor tax credit in Kansas to 2031.

The bill amends the Kansas Statutes to extend the sunset for the angel investor tax credit to 2031. This credit allows investors to claim a credit against their Kansas income tax liability for cash investments in qualified Kansas businesses. The credit is limited to 50% of the cash investment and can be transferred to another natural person. The bill also sets limits on the total amount of tax credits that can be claimed per investor and per Kansas business. The balance of unissued tax credits can be carried over for issuance in future years until 2031.
