Kansas SB421 protects students' rights to express religious, political, or ideological viewpoints at K-12 schools.

Kansas SB421, known as the Safeguarding Personal Expression at K-12 Schools or SPEAKS Act, authorizes students to engage in certain speech or expression at school. This includes expressing viewpoints in class, homework, artwork, and presentations, organizing gatherings, forming clubs or organizations, and wearing clothing with religious, political, or ideological messages. Schools cannot discriminate against students or clubs based on these expressions.
