Kansas SB313 amends the state governmental ethics law to prevent members of the legislature from engaging in transactions involving stocks and other securities from January until the end of the legislative session. "Covered investment" includes investments held directly or indirectly through funds, trusts, or plans, excluding diversified mutual or exchange-traded funds, U.S. treasury securities, and retirement plans. The act takes effect during the legislative session.
