SB218

Kansas SB218 increases the state's minimum wage over several years, culminating in a $15 hourly rate by 2027.

Kansas SB218 amends the state's minimum wage law, setting new rates over time. Initially, wages will increase to $7.25 per hour by January 1, 2026. By January 1, 2027, the minimum wage will rise to $15 per hour. After 2027, the wage rate will adjust annually based on the cost of living. The bill also modifies definitions for terms like "employee" and "employer," clarifying who is covered by the new wage rates. It excludes certain categories of workers, such as those in agriculture or domestic service, from these minimum wage requirements.
