Introduced·1/16/25
Introduced Text

Kansas SB17 exempts haulers of grain and certain other agricultural goods from gross weight limitations for vehicles.

Kansas SB17 amends the state's traffic regulations to allow haulers of grain and other seasonally harvested products to exceed gross weight limits during the normal harvest season. The bill specifies that these vehicles can carry up to 10% more weight than the standard limit if the distance between axles is less than 8 feet, or 12.5% more if the distance is 8 feet or more. This exemption does not apply to the national system of interstate and defense highways.
