Proposes a constitutional amendment to exempt residential property of seniors aged 60 and older from school district property taxes.

The bill proposes an amendment to the Kansas Constitution to exempt residential property owned by and serving as the principal residence of individuals aged 60 and older from all school district property tax levies. The amendment, known as the Save Our Seniors Amendment, would be submitted to voters in the 2026 general election. If approved, the exemption would apply to tax years beginning on and after January 1, 2027. The amendment also allows the legislature to enact necessary legislation to administer the exemption.
