The commission consists of members appointed by the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the president of the senate, as well as representatives from Kansas postsecondary public education institutions, the Italian-American community, Kansas industries, and business associations. The commission is authorized to raise funds, accept gifts, grants, and bequests, and report to the governor and the legislature.
