Kansas HB2644 requires county appraisers to adjust property values if they exceed a 5% increase over five years.

Kansas HB2644 mandates county appraisers to adjust the value of residential and commercial property if the appraised value exceeds a 5% increase over five years. If the appraised value increases by more than 5% over five years, the county appraiser must either adjust the valuation based on the information provided in the previous appeal or order an independent fee simple appraisal. The bill also requires the county appraiser to notify each taxpayer annually of the classification and appraised valuation of their property. The act amends K.S.A. 2025 Supp.
