Kansas HB2599 exempts minor-owned businesses from sales tax on the first $10,000 of sales and from local taxes and permits.

Kansas HB2599, known as the Kansas lemonade stand law, exempts businesses owned and operated by minors from paying sales tax on the first $10,000 of sales of tangible personal property each calendar year. It also exempts these businesses from local taxes, licenses, permits, and other government permissions. A minor-owned business is defined as one owned and operated only by minors, offering sales or services on an intermittent or seasonal basis, with gross sales not exceeding $10,000.
