HB2576

Kansas HB2576 mandates school districts to provide teacher training and student instruction on child sexual abuse identification and reporting.

Kansas HB2576 establishes Erin's law, requiring school districts to offer annual training for teachers and age-appropriate instruction for students on child sexual abuse and sexual assault awareness and prevention. The training for teachers includes actions to prevent and report abuse, identifying signs, and resources. Instruction for students covers prevention, reporting actions, and resources. The training and instruction can be developed by a child advocacy center, the Erin's law foundation, or other appropriate resources. The law takes effect from its publication in the statute book.
