HB2450

Providing exceptions to the automatic termination of candidate campaign accounts.

Introduced·1/15/26

Kansas HB2450 modifies the automatic termination of candidate campaign accounts by exempting those with over $1,000 in funds or liabilities.

Kansas HB2450 amends the automatic termination rules for candidate campaign accounts. Under the new law, accounts will not be automatically terminated if they hold more than $1,000 or have liabilities totaling more than $1,000. Previously, accounts were terminated regardless of the balance or debt, unless the candidate was running for re-election. The bill repeals the existing section and replaces it with these new provisions.
