Kansas HB2395, known as the shelter to home pet rescue act, allows a tax credit for medical expenses of adopted cats and dogs. The credit is up to $250 for the first year and $100 for subsequent years, with a limit of six years per animal. The credit is subject to documentation and must be claimed by one taxpayer per animal per year.
