HB2214

Enacting the safeguarding American veteran empowerment (SAVE) act to limit compensation for assisting in veterans benefits matters.

Chamber Passed·2/19/26

Limits compensation for veterans benefits consulting and requires written agreements.

The Safeguarding American Veteran Empowerment (SAVE) Act restricts compensation for consulting on veterans benefits matters. It mandates that any compensation must be specified in a written agreement signed by both parties, contingent upon an increase in awarded benefits, and cannot exceed five times the monthly increase in benefits. The act prohibits charging initial or nonrefundable fees and requires a disclosure statement to be provided at the outset of the business relationship.
