Kansas HB2163, known as the preceptor income tax incentive act, creates a tax credit for nursing home administrators, registered nurses, and registered dietitians who act as community-based faculty preceptors in adult care homes and medical care facilities. These preceptors provide personalized instruction, training, and supervision to students at postsecondary institutions. The credit is $250 for each completed hour of precepting, with no limit on the number of hours that can be accrued. The credit is non-refundable and must be claimed in the taxable year in which the precepting occurred.
