Introduced·1/29/25
Introduced Text

Expands pharmacists' scope of practice to include point-of-care testing and treatment for COVID-19.

This bill amends Kansas law to expand the scope of practice for pharmacists to include point-of-care testing and treatment for COVID-19. It repeals existing sections and establishes new protocols for collaborative drug therapy management. The collaborative drug therapy management advisory committee will specify protocols for conditions like influenza, streptococcal pharyngitis, urinary tract infection, and COVID-19. The board can deny, revoke, or suspend a pharmacist's license for violations.
