Introduced Text

Expands eligibility for Kansas tax credit for low income students scholarship program, increases tax credit amount, and adjusts aggregate credit.

The bill amends the Kansas tax credit for low income students scholarship program by expanding eligibility to include students who meet certain criteria, such as having a family income below 250% of federal poverty guidelines or having a parent in the military or a first responder. It removes the requirement that students must have been previously enrolled in public school. The bill increases the tax credit for contributions made to the program and allows for aggregate tax credit limit increases if credits claimed exceed 75% of the limit.
