Kansas HB2123 raises the minimum wage for employees who receive tips and gratuities.
Kansas HB2123 amends the state's minimum wage law to increase the minimum wage for employees who receive tips and gratuities. Employers can include tips and gratuities in calculating the minimum wage if these have customarily constituted part of the employee's remuneration. For employees receiving tips and gratuities, the minimum wage is set at $2.13 to $6.15 an hour, depending on the amount of tips and gratuities received. If the combined amount of tips and wages is less than $7.25 an hour, the employer must pay the difference.
