Kansas HB2100 creates a statewide protocol for HIV post-exposure prophylaxis, allowing licensed pharmacists to initiate treatment under specific conditions. The state board of pharmacy will establish requirements, including patient education and recordkeeping. Pharmacists initiating treatment are protected from civil liability, criminal prosecution, and professional disciplinary actions if they act in good faith and with reasonable care. The act supplements the pharmacy act of Kansas and takes effect upon publication in the statute book.
