Kansas HB2059 amends the state's income tax code to modify the Kansas adjusted gross income by allowing a subtraction for amounts paid by the taxpayer during the taxable year as a member of a health care sharing ministry. A health care sharing ministry is defined as a faith-based nonprofit organization that limits membership to those of a similar faith and acts as an organizational clearinghouse for information between members who have financial, physical, or medical needs and those who can assist them.
