Iowa SSB1023 restricts participation in cocurricular and extracurricular activities for pupils who open enroll for online education.
Iowa SSB1023 modifies current law to limit participation in cocurricular and extracurricular activities for pupils who open enroll for online education. These pupils can only participate if the school providing the online education does not sponsor such activities. Additionally, they can only participate in up to two activities per school year unless the resident district approves more. Pupils must also meet the same eligibility, conduct, and other requirements as students enrolled in the district of residence.
