Iowa SF87 requires health carriers offering individual, group, or small group contracts, policies, or plans in Iowa to provide coverage for acupuncture performed by licensed acupuncturists. The coverage must not be less favorable than that for general physical illness. The bill applies to third-party payment provider contracts, policies, or plans delivered, issued for delivery, continued, or renewed in Iowa on or after January 1, 2026. The commissioner of insurance may adopt rules to administer this section.
