This bill modifies the definition of "political party" in Iowa to include any party that received at least 2% of the total vote for any statewide office in the last two general elections or has at least 2,000 registered members. The Secretary of State must notify political parties of the canvass time. The bill also mandates that officials and employees of a political party representing more than 2% of the total votes cast for state must open envelopes and canvass results for all offices.
