Iowa SF600 creates exemptions for storm water drainage system service charges for certain properties.
Iowa SF600 amends the Code to prohibit counties, cities, and real estate improvement districts from charging for storm water drainage system services under two conditions. First, if the connected real property retains at least 1.5 inches of standing water at any point during a billing cycle, no charge can be applied. Second, if the property contains a retention pond for storm water purposes that meets the requirements of the national pollutant discharge elimination system general permit no. 2, no charge can be applied.
