SF471 regulates self-storage facility rental agreements, including occupant defaults and access restrictions.
SF471 amends self-storage facility regulations, stipulating that failure to execute a written rental agreement within 30 days of occupancy acceptance constitutes agreement to its terms. If an occupant defaults or the operator does not renew the agreement, the operator must notify the occupant via written or electronic mail, if agreed. During a 15-day removal period, the operator can restrict access to the leased space to office hours if specified in the rental agreement. Any remaining property is subject to lien.
