Iowa SF42 modifies the costs eligible for emergency medical services fund expenditures to include the salary or wages of an emergency medical care provider providing emergency medical services. The bill defines “emergency medical care provider” and “emergency medical services.” The proceeds from a local option income surtax or an ad valorem property tax, if authorized by a county board of supervisors, are deposited into an emergency medical services trust fund. The bill takes effect upon enactment.
