Iowa SF33 provides credit for accrued sick leave for certain law enforcement officers. Eligible law enforcement officers, excluding those under collective bargaining agreements, can receive a cash payment of up to $2,000 for unused sick leave upon retirement or death while in active employment. The remaining value of sick leave can be used to pay for a portion of the officer's group health insurance premium until the balance is exhausted, the officer becomes eligible for Medicare, or the officer dies.
