This bill allows emergency medical care providers to diagnose and treat severe injuries suffered by police service dogs while on duty. The provider must be certified by the department of health and human services and must treat any injured human first. The provider is not liable for civil action if they act reasonably and in good faith. The police service dog must be injured while on duty under the supervision of a peace officer.
